Good Evening
Today a got a call from one of my birding friends that a Boreal Owl had been spotted near Edmonton. Contrary to his advice, I changed out of my sweatpants before heading out to look for it.
All of the birders had left the sight, so I was fortunate some of my other friends showed up and they were able to find it.
It is only the second Boreal Ow; I have seen. So it was nice to get some photos. It sat for along while and then preened for a few seconds. Long enough to get some fun shots. The first two images were shot at 1/250 sec and the last at 1/40 sec. Not a lot of light in the forest late in the day.
