Writing on Stone Provincial Park
We first visited Writing On Stone Provincial Park in July 2015. We had purchased a new tent trailer and Connor, Hailey and I set off on a camping adventure in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. We visited again in August of 2018.
Writing on Stone is just a few miles north of the Canada/US border and features, hoodoos, cliffs ,the Milk River and of course aboriginal carvings on the stone. The park lies in the river valley and is surrounded by prairie grasslands.
It is an Unesco World Heritage site and contains the largest concentration of rock art on the Great American Plains.
